Responsible for commercial development of an agricultural/farm implement (“Zea”) for use in what is called crop phenotyping, specifically for corn. Developed strategic approach, and built and maintained the rapidly evolving business based on extensive interactions with market players, from small-scale corn breeders to multi-national seed companies. Partnered with Zea’s engineering lead to optimize speed to market and market-product fit.Additional responsibilities included integration of customer needs with the goals and pace of technical development, project planning and logistics, identification of industry-wide risks (such as the recent collapse in grain commodities markets) and opportunities (the need among seed companies to understand their breeding and trait research programs on a much deeper level), building marketing documents, demonstrations, and pricing models, and providing deep plant biological expertise to help link our engineers with our customers.
