Profile bio

About Matthew Walker

I am a clinical research professional with expertise in neuroscience, imaging, physics, and research administration. In my current role, I get to perform experiments, manage projects, write manuscripts and grants, mentor students, and liaise with other clinicians, academics, industry colleagues, and patients. Our group's goal is to build knowledge and improve patient care and I am excited to use my diverse skillset to make that happen.I believe in the value of varied perspectives and approaches. My academic career started with a bachelor's in physics and religious studies (having full course requirements for both). I further deepened my understanding of physical principles by completing a master's degree in particle physics. After doing some research with a neurosurgical imaging lab, I decided to complete a doctorate degree where I got to use my foundation of physical mechanisms and apply them in the context clinical neuroscience. I believe having a wide exposure to ideas and an open mind is key to growing as a person and a professional. On the side, I have gigged heavily as a working drummer (playing jazz, metal, musical theatre, and everything between). Please reach out if you want to talk science, philosophy, music, or basketball!

Listed skills include Research, Physics, Data Analysis, Experimentation, and 14 others.
