I am an environmental scientist focused on building a sustainable future through science, technology and education. Studying the impacts of human activities on our oceans, I experience the sheer extent of the deterioration of natural ecosystems first hand. It made me realize that prevention in combination with technological solutions is needed to solve global environmental problems.I currently lead the Environmental and Social Affairs team at The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization that develops and scales technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. With my team, we ensure the net positive environmental and social benefits of The Ocean Cleanup’s operations. I am also the founder and CEO of Egger Research and Consulting GmbH, a Swiss-based environmental consultancy focusing on data-driven environmental protection and sustainability.
