The International Experience committee organizes a annual volunteer trip with a total 20 economic faculty students in order to provide meaningful help to the local community.This year, the main destination of the trip was Isla Colon in Panama and the two projects organized were teaching English at a school and performing research to increase garbage collection and processing efficiency. Insufficient collection, dump sites and burning garbage are considerable problems on this small island in a delicate marine environment. Therefore, we worked on a plan to improve the situation.The trip was a success: we succeeded in both projects, with positive remarks of the government and education officers involved.
