As an experienced educator, I have developed a diverse skill set through my teaching experiences at various institutions. After obtaining my Bachelor of Education from Saint Francis Xavier (2013-2015), I had the opportunity to teach literature abroad in Ada, Ghana, where I taught and implemented curriculum for Form One English Literature. During my time there, I worked with students to establish a weekly creative writing club and served on the ADASCO Cultural Committee.When I returned to Nova Scotia, I started working full-time at Armbrae Academy in 2017 as a middle school teacher, where I taught and implemented curriculum for Grade 8 ELA, Grade 9 Ancient History, Grade 10 ELA, and Advanced English 11. I also coordinated the visit of 5 local poets and authors to workshop with students and closely supervised and worked alongside students who required EAL support to improve their written and oral test scores. In addition, I taught Grade 7 ELA, acted as Yearbook Coordinator, coached the Armbrae Curling Team, and collaborated to develop the curriculum scope and sequence for English programs. Lastly, I taught and implemented curriculum Middle School Drama, Guitar, and Visual Arts while assessing the school's performance related to CAIS accreditation standards.
