The Knall-Cohen Fund is a $170,000 long-only, equity endowment position within the Indiana University Foundation. The fund was established with donations from David Knall and Jeff Cohen of Stifel Nicolaus to provide students with experience in stock analysis. Students involved in the fund initiate coverage of an assigned industry while taking a course designed to teach them the pillars of fundamental stock analysis and valuation modeling, replicating the experience of a buy-side equity research analyst. These skills are critical for a final industry report and stock pitch presentation to an endowment investment committee of industry experts from buy-and-sell-side firms.• One of 40 students chosen by faculty and upperclassmen to partake in a rigorous program aimed at replicating the work of equity research analysts by enhancing macroeconomic and firm-specific knowledge• Assembling an in-depth, long-term stock pitch and industry report covering the Communications sector for investment management experts by intertwining statistics and valuation modeling from Bloomberg Terminals

The American Heart Association is a non-profit that focuses on funding cardiovascular reseach. The American Heart Association also works on providing information to people on the best ways to avoid and deal with cardiovascular problems. While this fundraiser was not specifically under the umbrella of the American Heart Association, all of the proceeds went to research for congenital heart defects.• Planned and organized a fundraiser to raise money for research into genetic heart defects, a problem that affects millions of people around the world• Employed social media to market the fundraiser to hundreds of people, as well as planned, organized, and executed a fundraising event that included dinner, entertainment, and networking opportunities for approximately 50 people• Raised over $1,500 for the American Heart Association and was honored at the Heart Innovation Forum where I had the opportunity to learn about some of the recent advancements in the field of medicine• Coordinated and arranged for reservations, dining options including for those with food allergies, and entertainment for the event itself
