Private Banker, Vice President
As a Private Banker, Matt coordinated J.P. Morgan's resources for wealthy clients often working on liquidity events in excess of $20 million. These resources included private banking, investments, financial planning, trust administration and complex estate planning strategies. Matt worked with clients to first gain a thorough understanding of their goals, priorities and objectives by engaging in the financial planning process. Then, he helped design and implement appropriate strategies to provide comprehensive wealth management services including cash management, investment management, retirement planning, tax planning, and constructing personal financial statements.Developed numerous investment policy statements including institutional bond accounts, separately managed accounts, hedge funds, private equity, structured notes, commodities and foreign currency.Regularly implemented cash management strategies including operating accounts, reserve accounts, strategic cash, operating lines of credit and loans to optimize yield on client's liquidity. Experience with managing concentrated and restricted stock positions including consideration of strategic outright sales, prepaid variable forwards (collar and loan), exchange funds and outright gifting. Responsible for strategic coordination of wealth management team, internal tax partners, clients' attorneys and accountants for tax planning including strategic acceleration and deferral of income and capital gains, maximization and efficient use of estate and gift tax credits, estate freeze techniques. Member of the Utah Market JPMorgan Chase Executive Leadership Team. Executive responsible for representing Private Bank line of business at market board meetings, client events, and media events.
