Focusing on serving quantitative and event driven trading groups including high frequency trading customers. Also providing architectural expertise and steerage for Thomson Reuters’ historical and near real-time market data “big data” analytics platform.

Working in the global financial services sector. Specialising in multicast enabled next-generation infrastructure to support sell-side and buy-side organisations with experience across multiple IT disciplines from compute, security to Low-latency and reliable networks.- Solutions architect for a financial exchange’s UK mega low-latency DC project offering multicast market data and unicast order-flow services.- Providing overall solution management for Ultra low latency HFT/proximity trading environments including co-location facility design, HFT WAN, trading platform requirements, networking requirements, latency measurement and timing requirements.- Refining and delivering thought leadership for next-generation ULL requirements looking 12-24 months ahead. Identifying and qualifying technology improvements such as server NIC’s, GPU, scaling ULL environments, infiniband replacement technologies to deliver competitive advantage.- Next-Generation European inter-Data Centre layer-2 network for live financial market data streams, multicast and unicast traffic. Must be low-latency with the ability to layer-onfuture yet-to-be defined business services with minimal time-to-market delivery schedules.- Promoting the cost vs gain analysis for ultra low latency investments into the business lines.- Responsible for creating the ULL network architecture vision with a deep understanding of financial services and directly engaging CTO and chief architect’s providing thesecomprehensive solutions.- Global WAN upgrade and re-design for one of the world’s leading inter-dealer brokers. Key deliverable was to improve competitivness and easily absorb financial services mergers and acquisitions.

International experience working on global IP Network architecture projects. BT, Telefonica International Wholesale Services, Orange, Bulldog Cable & Wireless. I was the senior design consultant on projects such as deploying MPLS based services for a global financial services organisation to virtualise their European/Asian WAN, L3VPN, VPLS etc. Global MPLS traffic-engineering project, large scale Pan-EMEA multicast deployment for over 1million subscribers.
