In the world of addiction it is often difficult to find people who understand and know your struggles. Be it yourself suffering from addiction or a family member Ask An Addict can help! Launched in March 2010 by Matt LeRose of Virginia, the mission was to provide a safe venue where addicts can come together and discuss their issues, recovery and find support for addiction. In addition, family or friends who do not understand the nature of addiction can openly in an anonymous format ask questions of addicts to gain better understanding of the nature of the grips of addiction.Ask An Addict has many user friendly areas from chat, discussions by category and a unique area called Confessions. Many times addicts and alcoholics have a great deal of remorse and guilt. Often times there may be decades of bottled up feelings, regrets and emotions. No one generally “gets” an addict. Not many are well versed and understand the torment an addict goes through in battling addiction. At Ask An Addict there are many opportunities to get these things off one’s chest which can be very cathartic for the addict and build a stronger foundation in recovery. This site is intended to provide support, help via the many rehab facilities on their directory and advice in a non-judgmental way so that the addict or family member can be made to feel there are many who understand and eliminate the feeling of being alone. Ask An Addict knows it may be hard to talk with family and friends as they just don’t understand as many have fractured those important relationships in life during active addiction. When it comes to seeking information, likeness, and establishing a strong recovery program who better to ask then someone who has been there! At Ask An Addict we listen and learn, together. For more information or to build your support network today please visit Ask An Addict at www.askanaddict.com, they’ll look forward to greeting you with open arms.
