We also were awarded "Best Use of the Web" by the National Press Photographers Association this year.The Mercury News has been awarded two Pulitzer Prizes, and we were most recently a finalist in 2004 for our photography on the special California recall election. The paper also has a global reputation as a leader in visual journalism. The Merc was judged a "World's Best-Designed Newspaper" by the Society for News Design. We are regularly lauded for the innovative approaches we take to presenting the news, placing among the top 10 winners in every SND competition for the last six years.
