Our 80+ technical staff members and four managers are spread across three Pearson offices in the United States and one in Mumbai, India.Working together, these teams carry responsibilities across many areas: traditional IT operations functions (across infrastructure, applications and databases), systems architecture, core DevOps code/tools and processes, release engineering, application performance and availability monitoring, application performance testing, ITIL process management, application security, and more. I am passionate about cloud services and the benefits of a DevOps / Continuous Delivery model in a software development organization. Under my leadership, our organization has moved core products generating $300M+ annual revenue into a DevOps model, leveraging cloud services - while reducing both labor and infrastructure costs.I am also an organizational leader in financial and strategic planning - leading our staff growth / college recruiting program for software developers, owning all capital budgeting and the majority of shared expense budgeting for the Pearson Assessment development organization, and helping multiple teams duplicate our success with team-building and engagement in India.Key initiatives:- Maturing DevOps capabilities and integrating those practices into core business products.- Primary leadership for transition into cloud services, leveraging public and private cloud technologies to improve products while reducing costs.- Sponsorship and guidance of Continuous Delivery pipelines/flow across product and testing teams.- Real-time, hyper-analytical monitoring of key performance indicators for critical systems.- Extending DevOps capabilities to staff in Mumbai, India, for easier 24x7x365 coverage.
