Sr. Software Engineer & Software Engineering Manager
Geenwood Village, Co
My long-term tenure with QC Data was marked by a consistent record of achievement and the subsequent advancement to progressively more responsible and visible positions. I began as a production floor CAD tech. and was promoted to Production Supervisor (1996-1998) overseeing production conversion projects for Verizon and Sprint, including developing quality analysis procedures, streamlining work dispatch, and training of GIS technicians. I was promoted to Software Engineer & Production Project Manager (1998-2007) and developed software for large-scale projects focusing on data conversion for major clients including Verizon, Ohio Gas & Electric, Ameren Gas & Electric, and Sprint. The focus and results of the work was a measurable increase in productivity and quality, with enhanced tracking, data mining, and reporting capabilities. This also entailed extensive data migration, specialized CAD programs and add-ons to proprietary client systems, and the management of teams of up to 100 GIS technicians. During this period I simultaneously supported our internal needs, for example designing, developing, and implementing a helpdesk system that greatly improved response time and communications, a more appropriate use of internal resources, and cost-savings.As Senior Software Engineer & Software Engineering Manager (2007-2016) I managed a team of software developers, ensuring a very high degree of quality work, cost-efficiency, and on-time project completions. The position entailed a significant amount of interfacing with IT managers from our clients to identify needs, assess requirements, and construct solutions. I developed software architecture, designed user interfaces, performed software testing, and reviewed code for accuracy. I'm always seeking to boost productivity. I continually analyzed all production processes for technology or procedural improvements, and encouraged the same from the team. It was exciting and rewarding work!
