I created a strategic foundation and then shaped positioning, identity, and marketing needs to aid in their shift to selling directly to the consumer.

Specc Comm International - Art Direction | Design | PhotographySpecc Comm is a publishing firm that produces five magazines and three guides. I was responsible for laying out all of these magazines. I also provided photography services for Touched By Cancer, one of the magazines Specc Comm produced. I pioneered a redesign for many sections of Touched by Cancer. I successfully met aggressive deadlines working well with my team and multiple editors.

Expressions - Art Direction | Design | LeadershipExpressions is an ECU-sponsored literature and arts magazine. I directed a creative staff of five people, including illustrators, photographers, and graphic designers. I was responsible for all layout work on each magazine. I worked closely with the copy editor to create a harmonic product. I also worked closely with our printer to reach all of our goals and meet our deadlines. I managed a $6,000 budget for each magazine.

The East Carolinian - Leadership | Art Direction | Project Management Manage a staff of 15+ photographers and develop their skills and ethics as photojournalist students. I was responsible for working with editorial staff to develop/capture photo content for all sections of the newspaper, hiring photographers, assigning projects, selecting images to be published, and training assistants in editing photography for print.
