As the Internship Coordinator, I coordinated an internship program of over 20 participants in varying locations. In this capacity, I reach out and develop relationships with local organizations (i.e. Culinary Externships with the School Food Project at the Boulder Valley School District) to provide learning opportunities for our participants. Our in-house internship program offers professional training in the culinary arts, facilities management, marketing, among others. I served as the point-of-contact for each participant's clinical team, collected and processed stipend requests, facilitated monthly evaluations and trainings, and managed the internship files for the organization.

As the Vocational Mentor, I help participants establish skills in job and career development. I train participants in how to write resumes and cover letters, build quality references, interview effectively, and find jobs that will help them be independent and develop a professional identity. We also created a Twitter Feed (@BoCoJobs) that collects and posts current job openings, career advice, news on employment trends and tips for holding a job.

As the Academic Mentor, I helped serve the academic goals and needs of between 8-15 clients through tutoring, mentoring, study-skills training, and helping to manage the logistics of academic life. In addition to holding a facilitated study hall and life skills course, I also served as an advocate and liaison to high schools, independent online learning institutions, local community colleges, and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Tutored students of all ages on reading, math, spelling, and comprehension. Worked with students ranging from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade with varying special education backgrounds and achievement histories. Communicated effectively with parents about their child’s progress and needs. Participated in leadership meetings to determine the budget and long-term strategy of the organization.

Worked with at-risk youth on corrective math, language arts, and comprehension. Adapted a direct instruction curriculum for diverse student populations. Developed incentive programs to encourage student achievement and supported the Lead Teacher in communication with family. Proctored progress examinations monthly in accordance with grant specifications.

Mentored 20 college students a year in business management. Trained and managed over 100 people per year. Team revenues exceeding $750k dollars over three years. Acted as a business consultant for 20 operators.

Hired, trained, and managed an eight employee branch. Designed and implemented successful marketing program. Revenues exceeding $60k. Quality Manager of the Year Award Recipient.
