My clinical experience has been focused on Young Adults (Millennials) and Adolescents (Gen Z’rs) due to a myriad of reasons that I’d like to share with you.First reason is quite simple; I have a genuine affinity engaging with young people who are having trouble finding meaning, in what is an increasingly complicated time in their development.I find clarity and healing can spring from the insight gained around profound influences, primarily with family but also narratives formed through one’s academic and relational challenges.As a father of young adults, I’m very in tune with the uniqueness of their generation and the traps of using 20th century motivational techniques on a brain that has been impacted by vastly different experiences.Lastly, I find it hard to look past the startling statistics around mental health, addiction and suicide rates of our young people today. Therapist for young adult males (17-26) in transitional living facility, challenged with issues around mental health and addiction. Conduct weekly Individual & Family therapy sessions along with multiple psycho-ed / process groups. Engage in on-going Case Management with Psychiatrists, Educational Consultants and Wilderness Therapists.

Provide therapy, mentoring, life coaching, crisis intervention, and case management to teens and young men.

Providing evidenced based substance abuse treatment to at-risk under-served adolescents who have co-occurring substance and mental health diagnosis. Through the use of the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA) Model, I work daily with teens to promote greater insight and more effective communication / relational skills to ultimately help them and their families create a healthier recovery environment.

Insight Intensive is the only residential program in the country specifically addressing the failure to launch epidemic. Finding themselves "stuck" between adolescence and adulthood, many young men turn to drugs, alcohol, and video games to escape their failures. As a Senior Mentor I work 1 on 1 with young men on their self-defined goals and measurable objectives, leading to the implementation and execution of their Life Plan.
