In 2014 FLW, the world’s largest professional bass fishing tournament organization and sister company of Jacob’s Management, decided to redesign FLWFishing.com. As web application development director for this endeavor, I was responsible for setting up technological strategies and designed a fully automated deployment cloud technology in Amazon Cloud. The project was started in October of 2014 and the redesigned website launched in March of 2015. My responsibilities included:- Analyzing business needs and requirements to make clear decisions along with my senior executives to achieve short to mid-term goals.- Executing a strategic technical roadmap transitioning traditional data center hosted website to high availability cloud computing web application architecture using Amazon Cloud and open source programming approach.- Delivering an object-oriented PHP Laravel MVC web application framework which is easy to manage and reusable. - Working closely with vice presidents, marketing group, agency, and content group to gather client requirements and deliver results that exceeded expectations. - Involved in the design and development phase with hands-on technical management.Data Center Architecture Refresh- Delivered full redundancy infrastructure for all our web application platforms along with network security, PCI Compliance, Backup & Disaster Recovery plan and up-to-date software version and security patches.- Working with external vendors to set up cutting edge F5 BIG-IP LTM as web load balancer and installed and managed enterprise level software products for optimum security and performance.- Setup clustered Microsoft SQL server database environment with full redundancy- Developed budgets that were cost saving and yet delivered the best cutting edge technology to build the most stable platform.
