I am a queer mixed nêhiyaw from Driftpile Cree Nation (Treaty 8) living on Treaty 6 territory in amiskwacîwâskahikan. With a background in community-based research and Critical Indigenous Studies, I have worked and volunteered in housing, poverty reduction, and the arts. In these spaces, I work hard to ensure that responses to social issues consider the unique needs and rights of my community's Indigenous peoples, LGBTQ2S+ people, and young folks. I have experience in community engagement practices, strategic writing, community-based research, committee coordination, and executive leadership.I'm open to coffee, chats, consulting, and volunteering, so feel free to connect via message or email.

Senior Executive AdvisorHomeward Trust Edmonton Aug 2015 - Jun 2022Edmonton, Canada AreaSince 2015, I have worked in several roles, including Intern, Research Assistant, Coordinator, and Manager of the Planning & Engagement departments. In 2020, I was promoted to Senior Executive Advisor, reporting directly to the CEO on organizational priorities, workplans, and supporting the Senior Leadership Team. Specific projects I've contributed to include the Update to Edmonton's Plan to End Homelessness, supporting the coordination of multiple Homeless Counts, engaging key stakeholders and community members via several committees, developing informative presentations and materials for community, leading or supporting several Indigenous specific projects, and representing Homeward Trust on numerous external committees. Other coordination includes support for Edmonton's Winter Emergency Response Committee and the Rainbow Alliance for Youth of Edmonton (RAYE). More recently, I was working on the planning and coordination associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and community engagement to develop much needed supportive housing across amiskwaciwâskahikan. In 2019, I worked closely with the local homeless-serving sector, several Homeward Trust staff, and our partners at the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, to host the CAEH National Conference on Ending Homelessness in Edmonton. Together we coordinated a community planning committee, secured resources, and hosted over 1300 people from across Canada and the world to better understand and end homelessness. -
