The Patient Access Systems Specialist serves as the technical expert for all Patient Access Information systems and applications including Meditech Client Server, Passport, RevRunner, Accretive Auto Access and others as needed. The incumbent is responsible for planning, implementation, administration, and maintenance of these systems and serves as the key liaison with third party vendors and other internal stakeholders such as physician practices, other Revenue Cycle departments and Information Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to researching and resolving system problems, performing day-to-day maintenance, and assisting in the review, testing, and implementation of system upgrades or patches. Provides technical expertise to other Revenue Cycle departments, and physician practices as needed. Provides general user support, training, and education to both employees and managers. May provide overall project management for specific Patient Access initiatives. Creates and maintains a variety of reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools, develops standard reports for ongoing customer needs, and responds to various requests for data from across the organization.

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Access, the Supervisor of Patient Registration oversees day-to-day operations within the Patient Registration department. The incumbent is responsible for staff scheduling, daily assignment of duties, and continuous monitoring of department work output for quality, timeliness, and patient/customer service orientation. The incumbent performs staff supervision, annual reviews, training and interviews as needed. The incumbent keeps the Manager informed of all activities as appropriate. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. In addition, the incumbent conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor and/or Manager Patient Access, the Patient Registration Representative serves as the initial contact with patients from infant to geriatric ages and arranges for their orderly registration/admission. The incumbent obtains and collects accurate patient information and ensures patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with standards established for the job. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. In addition, the incumbent conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.
