When my company decided to move forward with implementing ORACLE as their ERP system, I knew my background in accounting, previous ORACLE application knowledge, and my strong contacts with marketing and operational groups would position me as the best person to lead others through this transition. I spearheaded project leadership on the company-wide conversion to ORACLE and managed the commercial contracts and fulfillment components of the system.During this time I also earned my PMP certification, developed a monthly newsletter to enhance communication with targeted staff, and worked closely with the accounting and IT teams to develop informational sessions effective in educating all team members about the upstream and downstream impacts of data entry.Some other highlights accomplished at this time include:► Identification of process changes that resulted in enhanced communication between teams and hours of saved time per week.► Development of customized training materials that allowed users to see how our new system could impact their work and empower them toward higher levels of effectiveness. Older legacy systems were let go in favor of a newer, more effective method.► Collaborative partnerships with multiple accounting, operations, legal, and commercial groups domestically and internationally that ultimately resulted in highly-effective custom solutions, training materials, and on-site post go-live assistance.

I took on the VP role after Oxbow acquired their largest competitor. The new growth ignited by this change needed to be evaluated and assessed effectively in order to be managed competently. My ability to research and see the potential impact here was important from a strategic perspective. It was also an exciting time that allowed me freedom to work on a variety of projects while serving in a leadership role as a key partner in company visioning.Some of my favorite initiatives include:► Development of an export compliance policy, procedure, and program from scratch. This was a massive undertaking that required me to attend training to learn more about the elements required in a program like this. I also had to orchestrate major collaborative efforts with Legal, Operations, and Commercial departments when getting this initiative off the ground.► Acquisition of 3 major competitors in our primary markets. Completing this meant helming detailed review and analysis, research, and creation of a comprehensive plan to effectively manage the integration of commercial and accounting systems.► Design and rollout of a Customer Relationship Management application used for compliance with governance and as a marketing database. After designing this new tool, I was then challenged to train traders and support staff around the world.► Creation and implementation of a web-based customer scheduling planning and fulfillment application that effectively replaced Excel spreadsheets and eliminated duplicate data entry. The initiative gave me a chance to collaborate closely with developers and take on a transformative project that impacted US and Canadian trading groups.

The primary focus of this role was getting a new startup entity affiliated with Oxbow up and running. This position was the most exciting and meaningful professional experience I’ve had the opportunity to have. It was a tremendous challenge that allowed me to form a new entity from the ground up, manage start-up funding, learn about e-commerce and supply chain value all while working with a mentor for whom I had ultimate respect. This role also positioned me as Chief Financial Officer during the first year as I was the senior leader involved with the most background in accounting and finance.Some of my accomplishments include:► Paved the way in leading a new business initiative from the ground up, including finding partners, hiring staff, developing budgets, and learning needs of a new market.► Spearheaded development of presentations designed to connect with business investors and then took the message to a variety of industry conferences to share the idea, represent a new business, and connect with other key players.

(Corporate Development: 1996 – 1999)I began this job to learn about financial statement reporting and work closely with a CFO that I admired. I loved creating new systems to streamline transactions; however, once this was in order, I found myself in need of a new challenge. An opportunity came up for a Financial Analyst to work more closely with the operations group, directly involved in business development and project leadership, and I was excited for the creative possibilities here.Being part of a small management team charged with strategic visioning and project management was a joy. The work was varied and interesting and allowed me to hone my project management, organizational, modeling and interpersonal skills while still utilizing my strengths in forecasting, accounting, and budgeting.A couple of stand-out accomplishments during this time include:► Streamlined trust, personal, and household accounting systems.► Successful project completion, including negotiation of an insurance settlement, closing on largest loan in company history to garner funds for operational expansion, and saving company money by identifying multiple errors in interest calculations made by an external lender.
