After graduating from Aberdeen University, I continued to work in Scotland, working in paediatrics, elderly care, obstetrics & gynaecology, Accident & Emergency and Psychiatry. Subsequently I completed my GP training in Fife; following this I worked as a long term and adhoc locum across various practices in Fife, Edinburgh and the Lothians, before moving down south and eventually joining the Shakespeare Surgery team.I continue to enjoy the wide variety of challenges presented by general practice and feel strongly about health promotion and disease prevention. In particular I have an interest in diabetes and have completed the Warwick University Certificate in Diabetes. My consultation style is very much holistic and patient-centred, which has allowed me to achieve beneficial and insightful relationships with patients.Along with my GP colleagues I am also a GP trainer and train Manchester University medical students of all levels. I have completed the Manchester University Certificate in Postgraduate Medical Education.I have a special interest in women’s health & family planning, having completed diplomas in both. I also provide contraceptive service including implant & coil fitting and removals.In clinical practice I also provide travel medicine, acupuncture and palliative care.Along with my two business partners, I also provide specialised health screening and advice through our newly launched company Your Health First Cheshire, based at The White Rooms in Lymm, Cheshire. Our services appeal to individuals, families and companies who are committed to supporting and maintaining good health.
