Patient Service Coordinator
CurrentGreets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Answers and screen incoming calls, routing them throughout the clinic to appropriate offices/staff members. Assist in scheduling 75 to 100 patients’ appointments daily for 4 physicians and 2 MLP.Ensures that patient receives the “Patient Information Verification” Forms (Routing Slip) and instructs patient to review the form for accuracy and to note any changes in demographic or medical history on the form, once demographic changes are made in EPM/EMR the PSR initials the form and places it in the routing guide to alert clinical staff to update medical changes. If there are changes in insurance the “Patient Information Sheet” must be completed, and scan new cards into EPM and into EMR Run doctors schedule for the next day, and prepare patient records by checking EMR for all needed information based upon the last office note or physician orders. Make appropriate calls to gather any missing documents/reports. For new patient, ensure all necessary information has been obtained from the referring physician office. Takes hospital consults calls obtaining all pertaint patient information, and then forwarding that detailed information to the on-call physician. Scan medical documents, radiology reports, consultation report, MD progress notes, and insurance correspondence into patient EMR.Provides information to callers including directions, addresses, telephone numbers, scheduled appointments etc. Exercises discretion and interpretive judgment in frequent contacts with the public.
