Undertook a self-directed bioinformatics study as part of my senior research experience focused on the effects of specific somatic mutations in the KMT2C gene with regards to mortality outcomes in patients with triple negative breast cancer. Gained valuable experience in collecting, filtering, and evaluating data from online genomic, proteomic, and interactomic databases including cBioPortal, UCSC Xena Browser, GEPIA, TCGA, GTEx, and Ensembl. Adapted high-level thinking to processes such a transcriptional co-activation, multifactorial modification of the histone code, and protein functional domain disruptions to determine mutation-related net biological effects
