Role delivery included stewardship of 5x global functions through appraisal and planning cycles, supporting movement of cost and effectiveness performance to top quartile benchmark across industry, and primary value lead for the establishment of new global business services function.

Adding to previous scope, newly expanded position to lead global team of project and program management experts (13 direct reports) and ensure delivery of BHP's largest, most complex and highest value commercial improvement projects for Marketing, Procurement and Supply Chain Logistics. Role delivery included lifting project performance to plan from <23% to 80% in two years, through the establishment of "internal consultants" project pool of experts; significant improvement of outcomes and saving on external project managers and consultants.

Leading a new team as part of the newly merged Commercial group at BHP, critical accountability to optimise the project portfolio composition and ensure link to strategic priorities. Role delivery included developing and embedding the first global Marketing and Supply Continuous Improvement framework and applying prioritisation to global portfolio, reporting portfolio performance and focus areas to the commercial leadership team to maximise ROI on all commercial improvement projects.

Leading global cost transformation across categories, building individual category strategies / leading negotiations, and establishing the newly organised global Supply team across all BHP locations. Role delivery included establishing global transformation office, leading strategy build and negotiations as part of $300m recurring cost out ($3b baseline), upskilling global and regional procurement teams on use of should-cost models and utilisation of low-cost country options, and coordinating the first integrated global Supply 5 Year Plan, directly linked to BHP purpose and strategy.

Procurement ownership of high value categories (>$350m) with material productivity impacts across all mine sites. BHP primary negotiator and contract representative with some of the company's largest and most strategic vendors. Role delivery included establishment of labour hire panel for BMA, significant rate negotiations across all Production and Maintenance labour hire and service contractor contracts for a recurring $25m annual saving, and step change in connection between operations and commercial team in a period of intense business transformation.

Role delivery included re-design and standardisation of Asset-wide stock counting method, creation of still in use exception reporting for GMs, and Maintenance-Production-Supply integration work.
