Retired after 48 years and 23500 hours of flying. Started in the RAAF in 1960. "A" Category Flight Instructor / Instrument Rating Examiner. Flew DH-Vampire, CA25 Winjeel and Lockheed C130s In 1970 left the RAAF to go to Hong Kong and commence 15 years with Cathay Pacific. F/O on Convair 880 and Boeing 707. Captain on B707, Lockheed L1011 and Boeing 747. President HKAOA. Ultralight business in Perth WA before being offered corporate flying which finally lead to being Manager, Flight Ops with Bond Corporation. Flew Falcon 50, 200 and 900.After the collapse of Bond Corp, was fortunate enough to get the last direct command to Ansett WA after the 1989 pilot's dispute. With Ansett flew Fokker F28 and A320 and held the office of Flight Operations Manager.After Ansett's demise taught CPL subjects to Singapore Airlines cadets, then became Manager Flight Safety then Chief Pilot at China Southern West Australian Flying College.Since retirement have written a book "Intentional Safety".
