I am an assistant to a Co-Chief Investment Officer, a Director, Investment Management and an Investment Manager. My role includes:- Investment research - co-leading the management of underlying investments within our passive services. Co-leading the Private Equity pod, conducting research into the asset class and presenting quarterly to the IC.- Portfolio management, including trading and rebalancing portfolios to align with the relevant model and risk mandate. - Providing assistance to investment research pods; analysing current and potential positions, meeting fund managers and researching and creating presentations to present to the IC during our quarterly investment meetings on ad-hoc research pieces. - Suitability reporting, which entails drafting investment proposals & ongoing suitability documentation. - General administration tasks such as new account set up, account closures, ad hoc admin tasks, ongoing maintenance and client servicing.- Assisting with departmental projects, either with implementation of new systems or processes.

Throughout my time at IFDS, I was responsible for: - Taking incoming calls from agents, corporate and private clients who are looking to place trades within their investment products, these trades included sales, switches, repurchases and conversions within the client's portfolio. - Representing approximately 50 different management companies- Administering products such as ISAs, OEICs, Unit Trusts, Investment Trusts and Bonds- Dealing with FCA regulations in regards to client's investments on a day-to-day basis- Responding to dealing queries from other internal departments- Monitoring deals to ensure they were placed correctly- Point of contact for the dealing team when the manager was unavailable During my time here I was also in charge of training new starters and helped with the interview process. This included training on the systems and procedures of each individual management company whilst running through live trades with clients. I also spent the last 6 months, training around 30 members of existing staff.
