My first way of earning money was refereeing football matches at 14 years old. This was a tough job for me as I was reserved as a child but wanted to better myself by doing something that I loved. I did this until I was 17 and then gained my NPLQ and became a lifeguard for a year, gaining skills like life-saving, responsibility, consistency and keeping calm under pressure. I then worked for Camp America after finishing my Alevels for the summer. This taught me independence, working with new people and a new way of life. This was the best thing I have ever done as I have always wanted to work abroad and meet new and different people which Camp America has allowed me to do. After this, I returned to England and became a paper manufacturing apprentice learning and producing everything to do with paper. I did this until January 2023 and this is when I travelled Southeast Asia for 4 months, again learning a new way of life and broadening my understanding of the area. This was a fantastic experience and cannot recommend more to anyone to do this. I then came home and lifeguard again for 6 weeks, this time more of a manager role at a smaller pool, where I was in charge of the plant room and learning how to deal with the chemicals. I then returned to New York with Camp America for a second summer again as a lifeguard. When I returned in September 2023, I came back to start my student life at Manchester Metropolitan University studying International Tourism Management which is what I am currently doing and now in my second year.
