In this role I lead a weekly after school club at a middle school focused on bicycling. During the winter months, we provide the youth with basic bike mechanic skills as they build and earn a bicycle to take home, and during spring and fall we take them on rides around their neighborhood, showing them all the places their bikes can take them.Some of my primary duties include route and curriculum planning, communication with school staff partners, communication with student's families, and logistics planning for occasional weekend events.

In this position, my primary duties revolve around customer service. I inform customers of types and models of bikes available in the shop, and prepare both the bikes and the customers for test rides. I also must be familiar with the various accessories, clothing items, tools, and bike parts that are sold in the store. Secondly, I complete simple and quick repairs on the sales floor. These largely consist of fixing flat tires, adjusting brakes and derailleurs, installing accessories, and occasionally building bikes from their shipping box to be placed on display.I've also taken on responsibility as the shop's rentals manager, keeping records of inventory used for bike rentals and training other employees on how to use the rental software.

After promotion from Student Assistant to Student Lead, I took on a new slate of responsibilities. In addition to the responsibilities of a Student Assistant, I also took part in managing work schedules and hiring, budget preparations and decisions regarding equipment purchasing, and served as a point of contact for Student Assistants when they had any questions about their role. During summer 2021, I collaborated with other Leads to fully digitize our insurance process. The whole process was streamlined to one Google Form, a spreadsheet, and a Trello board. This has been a huge improvement over our prior insurance process, which involved tedious paperwork, copying, faxing, and an extensive and overburdened filing system.

In this position I performed frequent customer service work checking out laptops, tablets, cameras, projectors, and other technology to UW Students. When equipment was returned broken or damaged, I would troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment and, if needed, prepare it for shipment to a repair center.

In this position, I was a Teaching Assistant for a five-week intensive Environmental Studies course on Societies and Climate Change for middle school students. I assisted with student management, paperwork, and classroom material acquisition, and generally served as a liaison between the course teacher and the program managers. I also researched, prepared, and delivered two full lessons on the local history of climate change and land modifications.

I developed lesson plans for youth lessons, hosted races for adults, taught private lessons, managed boat/water safety, and assisted in maintenance of a fleet of roughly fifteen sailboats and two powerboats.

As a project management intern, my main project involved creating an online portal for Port employees to volunteer with the K9 Unit as carriers of decoy explosives. This was necessary because the dogs had outsmarted the previous program, which only included POSPD employees, and would alert to familiar faces rather than to the decoy explosives. Using Microsoft Sharepoint, I implemented a volunteer sign-up on the home page of the Port's internal website. I also participated in community outreach events, designing a display board featuring the various dogs and handlers of the K9 unit. I attended numerous community events throughout Seattle and King County.
