Intercom and Bell System· Developed a fully featured bell and intercom system from the ground up as the sole developer.· Leveraged FreeSwitch (telecom stack) to handle SIP related tasks, JavaScript and the Vue framework for the front end, Python and the Flask framework for the middleware and MariaDB for the database. This system is currently deployed at 100+ sites. · Altered the product, which was originally built for appliance-based installations, to work in a cloud environment – AWS primarily. With cloud support, the company was able to offer off-site options and bring in reoccurring revenue on the product. · Modified the system to support basic VoIP system functionality, which ended up replacing the company’s internal phone system, saving thousands of dollars a year. Alert System· Developed an alert add-on for the Intercom and Bell system, which allows users to create and execute custom alerting procedures from several built-in actions including displaying custom visuals, playing custom sounds, and sending SMS/Email.· Built the accompanying PC/Mac client applications using Qt for Python and WebSockets.· Acted as the developer liaison for an Android version of the client application that was outsourced, which entailed writing project documents and regularly communicating with the developers and stakeholders to ensure success.Day to day responsibilities include supporting deployments through the investigating, tracking and fixing of bugs, developing new features based on stakeholder requirements, creating documentation and expanding test coverage.
