Max Allan is a partner in the Sydney office of King & Wood Mallesons. Max advises banks, market participants, corporates, funds, exchanges, clearing and payment systems, regulators and governments in relation to structured and complex derivatives, repurchase agreements, securities lending arrangements, other structured products and financial market transactions, and credit support arrangements. He also specialises in advising on netting, collateral, prime brokerage, exchanges, clearing systems, payment systems and other financial market infrastructure. He is a key member of the KWM team which prepares the Australian industry opinions for ISDA, ICMA, ISLA and AFMA and has significant experience in preparing and negotiating documentation for a broad range of financial market transactions. Max advises clients generally on financial markets and financial systems, particularly in emerging issues such as the use, risks and impact of technological change (such as blockchain and the use of data) and new legal and regulatory frameworks (including Australia’s Consumer Data Right). Max has worked with international bank, financial market infrastructure and government clients on various secondments.
