A mid-career sabbatical sailing adventure with my family of five. We refurbished an old boat in Mexico and then sailed to the South Pacific and Micronesia before returning to North America via the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. Over seven years we have sailed sufficient miles to almost circle the globe twice and have visited some 14 countries. This adventure has a been a good test of resilience, planning and self-reliance as we traveled many miles in often very remote locations.

Entrusted with establishing the first Project Control Office for PMO MHP working with disparate civilian and military organizations.

Selected through a competitive selection process to represent the Canadian Forces in an exchange program with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. As the Aircraft Maintenance Group Officer I led a large team responsible for second and third level helicopter overhauls, the acceptance of the new EH101 Merlin Mk1 from industry and supporting the Sea King Mk7 conversion.

Deployed on HMCS PROVIDER and then PRESERVER to provide maintenance and logistics support to deployed Sea King helicopters throughout CANFLTLANT. Also employed as a ship's diving officer and as a member of the boarding party and was one of the few RCAF officers to be qualified as a ship's Officer of the Day.

Employed in various junior officer positions in 12 Air Maintenance Squadron and then 423 (MH) squadron.
