Maximino Bessa is Associate Professor with Habilitation of the Department of Engineering of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Portugal, Senior Researcher of INESC TEC since 2009 and Director of the Multisensory Virtual Reality Laboratory MASSIVE where more than 15 researchers participate. He is Member of the Eurographics Association since 2003 and Vice-President of the Portuguese Computer Graphics Group for the period 2016-2020.Graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2003 from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, he completed his PhD in Engineering Sciences (Computer Graphics) at the same institution in 2007. He obtained the degree of Habilitation in Computer Science in 2017 at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. He is co-author of more than 100 research articles (of which more than 40 in international reference journals), books and book chapters. He has participated in more than 20 research projects funded 3 of which as Principal Investigator. His main research interests are Multisensory Virtual Environments, Computer Graphics, HDR, Human-Computer Interaction, Virtual and Augmented Reality.
