Potter has served as a media strategist and a brand-building adviser for public & private-sector leaders and organizations.While he was Executive Editor of 5280, Denver's city magazine, it was a finalist for its first-ever National Magazine Award—the most prestigious prize in magazine journalism—and 6 times overall, including for two stories Potter wrote.In 2023, he was named a finalist a third time for the National Magazine Award, his second in the category of Public Interest, which “honors magazine journalism that illuminates issues of local, national or international importance."
