About Maxine Clarke

All my roles since I started in HR in 2005 have been standalone, in relatively small businesses (100 people or less), reporting into a Director (most often the Managing Director). I see my role as a support function, to move forward the needs and concerns of the business. I hold myself accountable and I am proactive in the tasks I undertake. In all the roles I have had this attitude and approach has carved out autonomy, resulting in managers and colleagues letting me get on with my duties, without checking in or arranging my workload. It has also resulted in me being given additional workload (outside of my core duties) due to being seen as a safe (and effective) pair of hands. In addition to HR duties my current role includes administering the Environmental Management System ISO 14001, undertaking annual internal audits on the system, monthly legal reviews, chairing Management Reviews, reporting monthly on progress against objectives at the management meeting and ensuring the system is kept up to date. GoalsTo work hard and do a good job.To give good advice which is rooted in fairness and pragmatism, which hopefully results in better decisions, or the least worse decision being chosen.To be seen as an asset to my employer.
