I was hired onto the Graduate Training Scheme, or 'Manager in Training' scheme immediatly after finishing University. This involved working towards the opening of Hollister stores in the South West of the UK.My role was one of recruiting, ensuring the stores were staffed by the right mix of people to promote the brand. The new store openings are part of an aggressive multinational expansion by A&F, crossing borders and cultures on an enormous scale. This was a great inspiration for me and taugt me a great deal about doing business internationally and how such dramatic growth can be managed through their success and some mistakes!I also learnt the importance of personal contact and the effect an individual, or individuals actions can have on a worksplace.
