While contracted to Amazon my main duties included maintaining access control to an executive area through physical presence and access approvals. In addition, I performed administrative tasks such as creating budgetary spreadsheets and policy white papers. I collaborated with others in response to major events and investigations. Lastly, I developed user manuals and training documents.

Project Manager contracted with CB Richard Ellis. The contract involves managing a security team totaling 320+ billable hours, providing protection for a commercial office building in the International District. Managerial duties include creating weekly schedules, accounting for vacations, sick days, and special events requiring extra coverage. Weekly meetings are conducted with CBRE regarding planned work for building tenants and events posing security challenges.

From May, 2012 until May, 2013 I was a Lead Site Supervisor contracted to Amazon data centers in the Seattle cluster. The Seattle cluster encompassed 9 buildings and a team of 11 Security Officers. Major projects at that time included updating account Post Orders, detailing new policies and procedures, and conducting CPR training for the account. My regular duties included reviewing paperwork prior to submission for spelling, grammar, and clarity. Site audits were performed to assess whether procedures were followed and training was conducted to ensure customer expectations continued to be met. In May of 2013 I took a voluntary demotion in order to pursue education. My duties from that time on remained the same, but I supervised a team of 3.

Greater Seattle Area

In this position I managed a staff of 5 contracted with Starbucks' Global Security Operations Center. My team monitored and controlled access to Starbucks corporate buildings in the US and Canada. This included the creation of access badges, adding and removing access, and performing troubleshooting for access issues. My office was responsible for downloading and securing security footage from Starbucks retail locations in response law enforcement requests. Additionally, the GSOC was required to quickly disseminating accurate information in response to global emergencies and communicate incidences of crime in retail locations. The premier project during this time was the inspection of 5,000+ camera surveillance systems in retail locations for deficiencies, correcting problems remotely when possible, and documenting issues which required local contractors to fix.

Horn Of Africa

Deployed to the Horn of Africa with D Company 478th Civil Affairs Battalion. My role was to provide medical support for a 5 person Civil Affairs personnel, taking me to Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. This deployment supported American anti-terrorism efforts. My duties included supporting American, Coalition Forces, and local nationals. I assisted in the inspection of hospitals and clinics and provided recommendations to Officers on aid projects. Additional projects included construction of schools and farming works, and providing combat trauma medical training to Ethiopian policemen. Unrelated to aid work, I was later assigned to a team that created training materials and plans for integration of the intelligence collection software TiGR and MAP-HT.
