I am a BSc Marketing with Placement Year student at the University of Southampton, currently completing the third year of my four year course. During my first year, I completed a range of modules surrounding the foundations of marketing and business, averaging a first class across the year and achieving a Dean's List award for exceptional achievement. I made the most of the opportunities available at university, completing a range of LinkedIn learning courses to build upon my knowledge and skills and applying for internships through the university.This led to me securing an internship and eventual part-time role of Marketing and Brand Lead at Chassis Autonomy; a deep tech start-up developing autonomous vehicle actuation systems. This role was hugely exciting and gave me key work experience within the field of marketing; for example leading the company's marketing activities on LinkedIn and liaising with an external marketing company to oversee the company's rebrand and website development. I continued in this role for the entirety of my second year of university, in which I again achieved a first class and Dean's List award.I am now undertaking a 12-month placement at Cummins in the role of Marketing Communications Placement Student. During this placement, I hope to utilise and further develop the skills acquired at university and Chassis Autonomy, as well as gain new skills and experience.As well as these core jobs, I have previous experience running Formula 1 based Instagram pages as a hobby as well as volunteering to write Formula 1 news articles and working as an industrial cleaner during sixth form. Overall I have built upon a range of both academic and personal skills through my time in education, work experience and free time activities and aim to continue this growth as I progress through university and life. I look forward to the journey ahead and my continued development within the field of marketing.
