I will conduct a legal investigation into how judge shopping - the practice of filing cases in cherry-picked districts to receive certain judges- has elicited controversial rulings from federal judges in the form of injunctive relief that has led to:1)The removal of asylum seekers (State et al. v. Biden, 554 F. Supp. 3d 818 (N.D. Tex. 2021))2)The removal of youth migrants (State et al. v. United States, 86 F. Supp. 3d 591 (S.D. Tex. 2015))3)The Separation of families (Texas et al. v. U.S. DHS, No. 6:24-cv-00306 (E.D. Tex. 2024))Once removed, immigrants are subjected to various human rights violations. I will argue that the practice of judge shopping perpetuates these and suggest policy change to eliminate inequitable districting practices. I work under Rick Wedgle, retired family law attorney, to assist him in his pro-bono immigration proceedings. I draft various different motions with the Denver District and County Court. These include motions for Allocation of Parental Responsibilities(APR), motions to exempt financial disclosures (C.R.C.R. 16.2(e)), and Motions for designation as Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ). Drafting cases has taught me valuable information about the immigration legal system in the U.S and how it integrates with other systems, like family court and district court

Through institutional funding from the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies, I am creating a podcast with a co-host. Our podcast is about the international implications of the rising lithium market and its impact on the future. Today, our societal functioning—in part—is premised on portable technology and rechargeable lithium-ion cells. Thus, lithium is an essential industrial good. Although a large lithium supply exists naturally in Earth’s crust, it has increasingly become a sought-after commodity. Our podcast explores this, as well as the geopolitical, economic, and renewability issues lithium has brought forth.

I assemble and petition U-Visa applications with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to give nonimmigrants—who have had a serious crime committed against them—status within the United States. The idea behind U Nonimmigrant Status is to encourage victims, who illegally reside in the US, to help law enforcement officials with the prosecution of the specific crime that happened to them. I represent my clients by filing USCIS forms, curating and filing evidence packets, and rewriting and translating affidavits.

I helped run and volunteer for a music camp for youth across Denver. High quality arts education is severely lacked throughout U.S. institutional education, and I wanted to dedicate part of my time to ensure such access.
