Operations Assistant
-Responsible for operations for a Chicago-based nonprofit focused on fighting gender-based violence in the communities most impacted and on empowering survivors to be leaders in the movement. -Created a welcoming and safe environment for survivor leaders with disabilities by ensuring all had the same access to amenities, food, and transportation, and provided one-on-one support at in person events.-Built relationships based on trust as I worked with leaders on their program benefits by taking care with my communication and always processing their benefits on time.-Improved the accessibility of HTA’s programs for leaders with disabilities by researching venues and accessible transportation, vetting, and booking based on ADA standards and the individual needs of HTA’s leaders, and tracked results. -Highlighted LGBTQIA+ and Disabled voices in social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn and created “What Does Accessibility Mean at HTA?” newsletter article. - Ensured program events were accessible to all of HTA’s multilingual leaders by researching projects related to Language Justice. Language justice at HTA ensures that all leaders have the same ability to participate in programs in the language they are most comfortable with, including ASL. - Responsible for ensuring that events ran smoothly by coordinating and booking logistics for HTA’s in-person events across multiple vendors.Completed all administrative tasks, managed HTA’s organizational email, and helped with fundraisers and individual donor initiatives. -Created RFPs, vetted candidates, synthesized interview data, presented to co-directors, and assisted with hiring vendors and consultants.
