In Student Business Services, understanding the role of the customer service representative to communicate confidently and recognize the different resources that CSUF offers. I’ve always wondered what the fast-paced environment and creative direction with camera angles would be like as a live sporting event happens. I never watched sports as there were presented on TV, but was captivated in the behind-the-scenes production of broadcasting for a large audience. In athletics broadcasting, one second of indecision in the studio can feel like five minutes of silence to viewers. One incorrect score graphic can feel like the game is rigged. One bad camera adjustment can feel like an off-brand, amateur livestream. The quick decision-making attitude, calmness under pressure, and directing with confidence in a team are qualities and skills I learned and used consistently during every production show.Working with minimal, bare-bones production equipment in 2022 and witnessing exponential growth to the current production value has increased awareness for Titan Athletics viewership. The development of the production studio and programming enabled me to lead and strategize innovative ideas to continue increasing value and create learning experiences for future students. Broadcasting with athletics has been pivotal element in my career trajectory, and I hope to infuse my creativity from broadcasting into the corporate workplace.

The summer internship at Genesis Bank changed my perspective on how to find value in the workplace, enjoy the freedom of being a college student, and be creative with my ambitions and goals in banking. Marketing at Genesis Bank was a blend of creativity with the branding guidelines while maintaining professionalism on social media. I implemented these tactics into new social media content ideas, email drafts, press release statements, and other marketing materials. Beyond learning the development and role of marketing, the interns were tasked to develop and strategize a new banking product for a new type of audience…kids! This experience challenged me to conduct meticulous research with the problems to develop a connection to financial wellness with kids and understand the competition among other banks. Genesis Bank’s mission goals DEI initiatives originally resonated with me as I contemplated how I want to contribute my talents in a company. I am immensely grateful for the intentional learning experiences, an opportunity to showcase that my communications background can be transformative in a business, and more confidence and personal growth to apply beyond the internship.

Scored a goal into my first internship at the inaugural season of Angel City FC playing the Challenge Cup games at Titan Stadium in the CSUF campus. I assisted as a camera operator for the weekend-long event and interned during regular season. It's go time on game days during the soccer season, and I prepared the important set ups needed throughout the stadium, worked behind the scenes to ensure game day operations went smoothly, greeted visitors with credential check-ins, assisted stagehand director with pyrotechnic setups, and learned first-hand the skills used event management. In public relations, I gained valuable experiences of preparing for a post-game press conference, develop additional writing skills, and working with the media who continue sharing stories of ACFC.I appreciate the opportunity to connect with ACFC's mission to build an inclusive community in women's soccer and learn from industry professionals the importance of creating meaningful pop culture events for the diverse community of Los Angeles.

The power of relationship building between donors is crucial towards empowering future success for the Titans. Interning with University Advancement equipped me with the different roles that colleges rely on to operate. I recognize firsthand the long-term impacts towards the success of students through philanthropic efforts during my internship. Relationship-building towards prospective and current donors was emphasized, and learning the tools and engagement experiences Cal State Fullerton hosts guided me to draft and strategize the 2023 annual day of giving and within the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Although philanthropy development is not an interest in my career, I valued learning from University Advance professionals and sharing my experiences as a college student, gaining awareness for strategic initiatives for student success, and understanding the pivotal “why” to connect the missing puzzle pieces that allow donors to give with purpose.

Applying what I know in the classroom with a real client was a rewarding and insightful experience. Titan PR is a student-run public relations agency providing pro-bono services with local communities and businesses to create and establish public relations campaigns. During my time with Ghost Rocket Music, I created and implemented a public relations plan emphasizing on the use social media to elevate brand visibility and engage target audiences effectively. Fueling our digital presence, curating compelling social media content resulted in a remarkable 20% surge in online followers within a mere 13 weeks. Uncovering the areas of opportunity, I explored past client engagements and events to gain invaluable insights into the company’s mission and goals through meticulous research and analysis of the company. A memorable event with our client was gaining first-hand experience volunteering with red carpet events and interviews at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards. Through this immersive experience, I am thankful for the transformative power of teamwork and strategic communication plans. My teammates’ collaboration was at the heart of our successes to execute our PR initiatives. I learned the value of productively working and planning among a team and building relationships with our client to improve their communication goals.

Lights...camera...action! Volunteering behind the scenes of CSUF's Titan TV studio enabled me to develop stagehand skills and understand the operations of a studio production. I am inspired to produce and creative ideas, content, or videos with a collaborative team, learn the technical skills of camera work, and understand the role of a director. I appreciate the opportunity to be involved with hands-on learning experiences on a commuter campus and create meaningful memories.

I love and appreciate all things nature...and flowers are the beauty in the beholder of my eye. When I was following local and small business owners in Orange County on social media, Billiann Kathryn, the founder, was hiring for an executive assistant. Long story short, I got to live out my dreams creating and designing with flowers and learn about the small business aspects of a freelancer. My duties included organizing design materials, floral design event setup and cleanup, creating content for social media, and closely collaborate with the lead designers to manage client lists.Although Billiann's business came to a close, Blooms Done Right helped me to learn more about the structure of a business, dream to be creative with flowers, and connect with various wedding vendors who are inspired by the wedding industry.

My first year of college, I entered my first job in the Disability Support Services department. DSS at CSUF is a civil rights office committed to providing students with disabilities access and an equal opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and abilities. I assisted students daily with resources and accommodations in-person and over the phone.I learned the valuable skills in customer service to be a confident speaker, remain resourceful with different campus activities, and empathy towards the students and faculty members who visit our office. Through this role, I connected with higher-education professionals assisting the diverse student population. I am grateful for my first job experience to help me navigate my college journey and the professional workforce.
