Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Maya, I am in my early 20s, and am a New York native.I moved from NYC to Houston in October 2021, primarily to attend The Vet Tech Institute. My skills in customer service were able to shine in the workforce as I worked in both the food handling and event industry. I am comfortable with POS systems, assisting guests, and maintaining cleanliness, all while having a positive attitude.After attending school halfway through, I was in a position where I had to make a difficult decision, and put a pause on school to work on my finances. Since then, I have been given the opportunity to work with some amazing people professionally in the veterinary industry. I honed my skills in managing and improving client interactions, while facilitating effective communication between pet owners and the veterinary staff. I understand the importance of empathy and clear communication when addressing the concerns and needs of pet owners.Moreover, my background in animal care, including working in animal rescue and animal ER, along with owning many pets myself, has provided me with valuable insights into the unique bond between humans and their companions. This firsthand experience allows me to approach these roles with a genuine understanding of the emotional and practical aspects of pet care. I am eager to bring my dedication and communication skills to your team.I have worked hard to be able to start my own cat rescue, and we are currently in the process of getting our 501c3 tax documentation done. Being able to change the lives of the cat colonies that need help has always meant so much to me, and I look forward to being able to increasingly have a larger impact.Apart from my experience, I possess a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and a drive to continually learn and grow. I have experience working remotely and using various computer programs and software and payment processing systems. I am quick on my feet and am confident that I can easily adapt to any new systems or processes used.I have now moved back to NYC as of the beginning of April 2024 in order to not only improve my financial situation, but to be able to successfully seek opportunities I am now able to explore with the experience I now have under my belt!
