Currently, at Emkay Global, he is engaged in India Strategy Equities Investment Research, providing insights and recommendations for Institutional Investors (FIIs), Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, Insurance, PMS, Private Equity firms, UHNIs, and money managers.Previously, he served as an Economist at the Chairman’s Office, Piramal Enterprises, a prominent Indian conglomerate and upper-layer NBFC with ~$10 billion in assets. In this role, he focused on the Indian economy, interest rates, debt markets, central banks, and foreign exchange (FX), shaping group strategy. He provided policy and strategic insights directly to the Chief Economist and Group Chairman, while also preparing pitch decks and conducting market research for various business verticals, including Alternative Investments(Piramal Alternatives, India Resurgence Fund), Insurance(Primerica), M&A, Piramal Pharma, Piramal Realty, Treasury, Retail, Wholesale lending, and more.Mayank worked at Credit Suisse, where he contributed to scenario-based decision-making on macroeconomic events such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Fed hikes, China's hard landing, and the coronavirus pandemic, etc. His role, centered around the equity derivatives desk, involved working on products like leveraged ETFs, asset swaps, and securities-based lending, alongside risk management using VaR, RNIV, ES, and stress testing metrics.Mayank's earlier experiences include roles as Assistant Manager at Genpact, focusing on Market Risk, and Moody’s RMS, specializing in Property and Casualty Insurance for (Re)Insurance firms.He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Quantitative Finance from the Madras School of Economics, Chennai, where he explored macroeconomics, econometrics, financial mathematics, statistical techniques, game theory, and stochastic calculus.His technical skills include Bloomberg, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, and LaTeX.
