My professional background is flooded with a variety of different careers, oppotunities, and achievments. In high school I learned I was not meant to be the "everykid" as twice I was let go from McDonalds after the 30 day trial period. I then worked for 2 years in a preschool/daycare and love it as this allowed me to just be a kid. In college, I needed different hours and moved convenience store giant "Kum and Go". The managment team there gave me the tools, training and confidence to move on to be a Sales Manager, and Store Manager in the company. Though I loved my team, I had an opportunity to try my customer service skills in the hospitality industry as a Guest Services Manager at a full service hotel. The Hotel at Gateway Center let me learn many aspects of the industry and increase my managment skills. A couple years later I applied for the General Manager of the AmeriHost Inn in Boone and in 1998 bid a sad farwell to one hotel and hello to another. For just over 4 years, I gave my all managing a mid-service hotel, overseeing develpment and startup of 3 hotels and integrating myself into the community of Boone in several leadership positions within the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and other political and volunteer factions. In 2002, I left the AmeriHost as my family needed more of me than the 24/7/365 this position required. I then became a service specialist for a proprietary software company that specialized in orthodontic practice management. It was an area I had no expertise in. I have found that Ortho 2 is a great company in a very niche market! I moved from support to sales and have learned how to find out what people really need and give them the tools to make their lives better. I then took on the role of Implementation Expert and have the opportunity to WOW new orthodontic partners while making their transition to the Edge Cloud the best decision they could make for their practice. Ortho 2 has been home away from home for the last 2 decades.
