At SBIR, I was responsible for the design and engineering of high performance test equipment used to characterize and calibrate IR, Visible and Laser systems. I work in a cross-functional environment with great people and a great company culture!

At Coorstek, Inc., I functioned as GD&T instructor, taught GD&T classes ranging from 30-150 people, GD&T and drawing creation methods taught to internal engineers/designers/machine operators/assembly personnel. I was responsible for gathering and analysing process and sales data, data that was used find holes in the processes and made the necessary adjustments/improvements for yield increase as well as approved engineering drawings, redlines and ECO’s and updated and improved all drawing standards and quality standards. He also managed manufacturing processes and personnel, directly responsible for improving delivery times and meeting "promise dates" by improving overall order tracking and processing.I performed data acquisition and analysis, created and used Excel Dashboard for tracking all scrap vs good product manufactured in the building. I worked closely with designers/operators/inspectors to ensure all quality standards were met, supported QA in helping them determine pass/fail of questionable features/parts.Highlight;• Created an Excel dashboard and tracked production data, used the data to make process improvements, improvements that led to over 30% gains in overall yields.

At Stratec Biomedical, I used my experience in product development and my advanced CAD skillset and knowledge to improve product's time-to-market and ensured that all the projects were completed within the specified budget and time constraints. I was directly involved with vendor sourcing, manufacturing process control, budget and schedule management, including interaction with all divisions within the company to ensure projects were on schedule and within budget. I was known to create detailed and accurate engineering drawings, used GD&T and ability to layout great drawings without clutter, tight-tolerance design experience.I created & managed all 3D models, assemblies, and drawings, as well as project-related documentation, technical writing in the way of assembly and work instructions, assembly documentation prepared for the end-user. I built all prototypes, sourced all fasteners/hardware/OTS components and adhesives used for assembly, test data acquisition, machine shop experience with manual CNC and lathe as well as some sheet metal forming tools, CNC/sheet metal/injection mold part design.Highlights;• Lead mechanical engineer on award-winning Holographic Particle Analyzer, completed the project within time and financial budget with minimal prototyping and successful first-round testing all leading the customer’s ability to secure necessary grants resulting from excellent instrument design and functionality.• Created a new and innovative dual-filter mechanism for optics to allow multiple variations of filter color combinations and wavelengths quickly, was adopted as the company’s primary filter design for all optical assemblies designed in the U.S. and in Germany.• Helped transition the company from a "startup" into a profitable company by reducing product design and manufacturing costs within the first 3 years of operation. I was referred to as their “go-to guy” by management and co-workers.

I was able to improve on-time delivery to customers by 60% with the use of CAD by reducing or eliminating errors that were associated with the company’s outdated design practices and outsourced manufacturing processes. I reduced overall product weight by 30%-40%, as well as vehicle’s balance and stability, with the use of CAD and FEA software, increasing the payload capacity for each UAV. By implementing in-house manufacturing and by learning to program and operate CNC, I reduced the company's monthly manufacturing expense by approximately 50%.

Owned and operated diverse product design and development company who's strategy was to assist clients through the entire product design process by handling all of their design and manufacturing needs. I was responsible for the day-to-day operations within the company as well as all corporate activities. I was also responsible to for the development of the infrastructure by adding key capabilities within the company that consisted of design, CNC manufacturing and rapid prototyping processes. Other duties included; project management, responsible for all knowledge transfer/training/employee development, client/customer interaction, marketing and sales, product design, prototype development.
