Senior backend developer on the Catalog team, responsible for the development of new features and functionality within Sourceability’s core business system, housing the source-of-truth for all data related to Sourceability’s product offerings. The Catalog system primarily consists of modern, clean, PHP code built around the Symfony 6+ framework and PostgreSQL along with RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch, and Docker as part of the development stack.Worked with the rest of the team to constantly improve the codebase, maintain quality standards, automated testing (PhpUnit and Behat), and to plan for long-term changes based on the company’s ever-evolving focus. Defined and developed internal and external client-facing APIs, standard Web Application functionality used by clients (internal and external) for managing the Catalog Parts/Products and the available Offers (manufacturer/vendor stock quantities, prices, delivery time, etc.) for those Products, and the business logic and algorithms used for determining the best available Offers to present to clients based on their needs. Built various data importers allowing us to ingest data feeds from a variety of partners, enabling their Products and Offers, along with associated assets (product images, datasheets, schematics, etc.) to be included in our Catalog inventory.

Introduced new code standards, source management practices, and automated testing practices. Worked to ready the system for tighter integration with the company’s flagship in-house product as well as add new features as defined by the product and marketing teams. Tapped to lead a new team assembled to focus on security improvements within the company’s suite of products. Architected and lead the development of the first three Microservice offerings built by the team, hosted in an AWS environment. Responsible for defining, architecting, and leading development efforts for the company’s in-house, web-based (PHP/Symfony2) platform used for the secure administration of medical case information, review process workflow, and review performance, amongst the company’s in-state and out-of-state medical team personnel. Manage feature sets and project timelines, determining milestones and release schedules. Gather and synthesize application requirements from various team stakeholders, ensuring present and future needs of the company and platform users are met while adhering to strict security standards and compliance. Architect and implement solutions that provide a consistent user experience across the company’s various product lines, enabling Account Managers, Case Managers, and Medical Review staff to manage all medical cases under review and across various products integrated into the platform. Produce various reports and statistics regarding medical cases, status, and review outcome. Build custom software to process incoming streams of data from a variety of vendors, in a variety of formats (XML, EDI, CSV, etc.) and import the data into the company’s platform. Often times the data was rules-based or contingent on other data already existing in the system, existing in other data files not yet received or processed, or contained other various constraints, requiring strict management of the data and its present state.

Responsible for architecting and implementing new components and features within the company’s extensive in- house custom suite of software used for managing a large web hosting business. Architected and built the next generation affiliate and referral program used by the company’s thousands of clients to track and manage referrals and payout earned rewards credits. Architected and built an API throttling mechanism to combat abuse of the company’s development API, enabling the company to save time and money by eliminating the need for development resources, account management resources, and technical support resources to review many accounts and cloud resources that were erroneously or maliciously created.

Responsible for defining, documenting, and communicating the strategic vision, roadmap, and feature set for the company’s in-house, web-based, multi-million dollar revenue-earning platform, with 3.5 million users and over 100 million transactions. This platform was primarily written in Perl. Work with multiple internal departments to ensure that the operational needs of the platform are met, as well as determine, scope, and manage, custom features sets required to successfully implement incentive and rewards programs for many of Incentive Logic’s clients, including Microsoft, 24 Hour Fitness, Harris Poll International, MarketTools Inc., WellPoint, Revolution Health, AstraZeneca, and Sun Microsystems. Oversee and manage internal and external development personnel resources, coordinating their time and tasks between multiple projects, providing feedback and guidance, resolving conflicts, and mitigating risks, leading to the successful completion of projects.
