I have extensive experience working in Residential Life/Housing. I was an RA for 3 years and then transitioned into a supervisory role in graduate school. I directly supervised a team of 6-10 at SUNY Plattsburgh. I currently work as an RD at UW where I have supervised team of 10-20, an Assistant Hall Director, an Associate Resident Director, and an Office Assistant. I also temporarily worked as a Care Specialist helping to support students experiencing mental health crisis. I also have experience with student conduct - both as a conduct officer and as a member of a student conduct board. I have a strong background in mental health counseling. I am a nationally certified counselor and hold an associate mental health counselor license in WA. While in graduate school I had an internship working as a rehabilitation practitioner. I worked with adults in the community and undergraduate students at our graduate program's clinic. My clients’ mental health concerns ranged from anxiety/depression to PRSD, schizophrenia, and a variety of other severe mental health issues. I am currently a part-time therapist with Sequim counseling, a private practice. I see both adults and couples for a variety of issues. I have experience working with security as well. I currently work a security guard at Q nightclub. I regularly use my counseling skills for conflict mediation and to help guests/coworkers when an issue arises. I have also worked as a bouncer at a bar and an unarmed security guard. I'm able to deescalate situations and respond appropriately to maintain a safe environment for all. I volunteer at my synagogue as a security guard as well, performing sweeps and working access control.I have knowledge and familiarity with medicine / first response. I am a former EMT and volunteered with my college’s ambulance company. I assessed, treated, and transported patients. I also worked as a medical scribe in the ER where I supported and charted notes for the provider. In my spare time I like to volunteer with a variety of organizations. I work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program where I befriend and mentor a youth in the community. I’m a strong believer in giving back and helping others. While in college I volunteered with the Mentor - Scholar program which paired college students with local middle/high schoolers. I would work 1 on 1 with a student to help her with homework as well as mentor her and act as a positive role model. I also volunteer with Jewish Family Services in two roles - helping immigrants practice English and visiting elderly community members.
