This team fielded all technical issues from outside of VoIP engineering.We worked with Product Management, Sales, Technical Support, and technical partners to manage questions, problems and feedback from pre-sales & post-sales customers. We worked on interoperability questions & co-development efforts with technical partners and other engineering groups within Polycom.I was the lead technical expert on BroadSoft’s BroadWorks call control platform. I was the main technical point-of-contact with BroadSoft for co-development, and escalated customer issues. I worked with a variety of Tier 1 telecommunication companies with the deployment and maintenance of the SoundPoint IP products in conjunction with their BroadWorks systems. - Technical lead for the successful trial of SoundPoint IP products in the executive offices of a major US telecom; trial resulted in our solution replacing our competitor’s in all divisions of the company.- Traveled on-site with members of the Technical Support team to provide engineering expertise during high-profile critical issues at major customer sites in the US, Europe & AsiaPac- Provided technical training to Systems Engineers and Technical Support Engineers- Responsible for our internal BroadWorks deployment that formed the backbone of our testing and development efforts, as well as the production phone system for our Vancouver office. This was a redundant, production equivalent cluster of 10 systems containing 4’000+ accounts for 100+ users. Over 8 years I managed 4 major software upgrades, 3 hardware migrations, and an office move, all without downtime within working hours. - Held prime responsibility for maintaining the engineering network that hosted the test environments for 200+ users company-wide, and connected 30+ critical environments including our BroadWorks, Metaswitch and Lync systems.

Was part of the Core Software team on the SoundPoint IP line of products. This team was responsible for all the software that was not specific to a particular VoIP protocol or software application. Particularly support libraries for common protocols (DNS, FTP, TFTP, HTTP, TLS/SSL, DHCP, CDP/LLDP). The team developed and maintained the BootROM firmware that provided fault-tolerant software upgrades, and was responsible for the provisioning process that verified firmware, refreshed configuration and recovered gracefully from failed upgrades.I was the technical lead for several projects, including:- The specification, architecting and development of the product's XHTML MicroBrowser- The development of an FTP client library for provisioning & firmware updates- Selected and ported the Seminole Web Server for local web-based configuration- The design and implementation of support for Cisco XML Services on the SoundPoint IP 500cs- Porting libCurl to our development environment to add HTTP support- Migrating our provisioning code to using libCurlAs part of this team I assisted in:- developing a code-signing system to authenticate firmware updates- updating and maintaining several support libraries, such as OpenSSL, libCurl and ares DNS- maintaining the device's logging system- validating & fixing bugs reported from the QA team and the Technical Support team
