Leveraged speech data to analyze metrics and improve user experience for Windows Phone's Cortana system. Worked with natural language technology, with particular focus on conversational/contextual understanding.

Developed online talking dictionaries for indigenous languages: Tlacolula Valley Zapotec (Mexico) and Paez – Nasa Yuwe (Colombia). Co-authored course materials and taught an introductory linguistics course for native speakers of Zapotec. Conducted field recordings and collected data for linguistic archives in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Coordinated partnership between Bryn Mawr’s Civic Engagement Office, Bryn Mawr and Haverford College’s education departments, and Parkway West High School (Philadelphia). Planned lessons and helped high school seniors prepare for life post-graduation. Conducted weekly reflection meetings with college student volunteers.

Conducted research on endangered and indigenous minority languages, translated and transcribed interview materials, assisted Spanish-speaking participants during 2013 Folklife Festival.

Facilitated focus groups and conducted interviews with faculty, staff, and student participants in Bryn Mawr’s Praxis civic engagement program. Produced report of findings and recommendations for improvement to college administrators.
