The purpose of the CitDev Program is to enable all employees to develop Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) business applications using repeatable process and best practices, while ensuring the integrity and security of enterprise data.Officially launched in June 2021, the Amtrak CitDev program has quickly grown to over 19,000 members and 1,400 active developers. Our developers have built over 38,000 solutions including process automation, dashboards, virtual agents, and applications.Developed a comprehensive yet simple “playbook” which serves as a road map for the Citizen Developer helping them focus on critical, yet often overlooked, areas of Citizen Development. The areas addressed are Business Analysis, Problem Solving, Relationship Building, Process Mapping, Project Management, and Development.Promoted and improved capabilities by hosting interactive learning sessions, using proactive/collaborative communication methods, and building easy to use LC/NC tools & templates, Michael created an environment where Citizen Developers can create custom Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) solutions, network with peers, learn, ideate, and share best practices using sustainable/repeatable processes. The CitDev Program has demonstrated a quick and favorable Return on Investment – The CitDev Programs first official year resulted in a savings of $68 million dollars and recovery of 1.7 million hours in lost employee time.
