Built foundation for growth by getting Steelike UHPC approved and preapproved by multiple state-level transportation agencies, working with private testing labs to build a robust database of material test data, creating tools to predict material strength based on maturity data, developing internal skills to interpret bid documents, creating multiple key operation documents regarding sourcing, inventory, and delivery, creating case studies, website content, FAQs, flyers, and conference presentations, meeting with contractors to explain the benefits of Steelike UHPC, and supporting contractors for shipping, storing, mixing, placing, curing, finishing, and field testing Steelike UHPC. Also provided field mixing support for UHPC repair of steel stringer ends on the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Management of complex international bridge design projects. Instrumental in building the company's resume and credibility in bridge design, helping them progress from limited roles and/or small bridges to lead designer roles on $30M+ projects. Managed staff of 12 persons on complex projects such as 590-ft network bow-string arch, and 1,000-ft vierndeel truss.

Management of structural aspects of civil engineering projects and structural engineering design. Worked extensively with local cities and counties on bridge replacement designs following WSDOT standards and rules. Among many other projects, was directly responsible for all structural aspects for 560-ft cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete balanced cantilever bridge replacing historic register listed bridge.

Design of bridges including seismic analysis and finite element analysis. Worked with WSDOT and local cities and counties on bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, and bridge condition inspections, including several multiple award winning projects.

Lead researcher studying the use of an experimental fiber optic sensor for non-destructive testing and monitoring of steel and concrete structures. Concluded that interferometric fibers were a promising method of monitoring structures and predicting the onset of structural problems such as cracks in steel structures and concrete structures and loose, missing, or severely corroded bolts or rivets on steel structures.

Research assistant studying the effect of existing and proposed truck size and weight configurations on steel bridges for the US Federal Highway Administration.
