Anew post dedicated to promotig the scientific publications of Doctors and researchers at Sechenov Medical University

• Leading a series of workshops on Social Media for Doctors; • Enabling non-English speakers doctors to feel confident in networking in English, through social media, with the wider medical education community;• Organised in collaboration with Annalisa Manca and the Col·legi Oficial de Metges de les Illes Balears (COMIB) in Palma de Mallorca.

I am Linguistic adviser giving English language support to Doctors and Health professionals working in both Hospitals.I give language support in Clinical Sessions in English in many different departments, ranging from Oncology to Internal Medicine, as well as General surgery and ENT.( In a total of 24 different departments in both hospitals).I also give courses on Biomedical writing and giving presentations as well as holding a Linguistic support workshop for all those needing help with scientific articles.

Although not Medically trained, having a BA Hons Degree in English and History, I am becoming increasingly interested in medicine. Maybe this is due to being around Doctors day in day out or maybe this is because I come from a strong medical family in Liverpool. Whatever the case he believes that what I am doing is essential for Doctors and nurses whose first langauge is NOT English.Medical English is an enormous field and encompasses many areas: the Doctor – Patient relationship, wherein the doctor often needs to speak and explain to non Spanish speakers, Research – English is the language of Biomedical investigation, and Training – Undergraduate, Postgraduate (Resident Training) and CME (Continuous Medical Education).I am interested in all of these, but at present am working on two important projects: Resident Training, which is the key to the future, and Clinical Sessions in English,my intitiative and which I have promoted and am currently taking charge of in both Hospitals and in around 24 different departments, ranging from Oncology to Immunology and Traumatology to Microbiology.
